Its been a minute (I feel like I say that everytime) for a new interview. But, with that being said, I bring you the first interview of 2022! You may have seen him clicking (Not actually) or chatting in the box helping people. DeenGrildo!
Lets get this kicking so you can learn more about our beloved Deen :D
=====GENERAL GAMING QUESTION:=====
1.What was the first console you owned?
-I had an Atari 2600, and it was great. My first gaming love, though, was a Commodore 64. My favorite game on that was Below the Root. Your shuba has torn… Man, I’m really dating myself with this.
2.What current consoles do you own?
-We have a PS4 and a Switch, but I’m mostly a PC gamer.
3.What was the first game you played?
-Pac-Man. The controls were easy enough for 4-year-old me to figure out. The rest is history.
4.What is your favorite game that you still play?
-It's a toss-up. Diablo II is great. I love the loot grind, but it doesn’t feel too grindy. Elite: Dangerous is also at the top of the list. I’ve been playing since its wireframe days on a C64. I had pretty good runs in Battlefield, WoW and Call of Duty, but they've fallen off.
5.Can you share your best rage moments?
-We used to have family Street Figher II Turbo nights every so often when I was a teenager. I usually won against my dad, uncle, and cousins, but one night my dad just had my number. He was using Blanca, and managed to shock me over and over. After about the 58th time, I threw my SNES controller and shouted “This is bulls***!” and left. Didn’t even get in trouble; he was laughing too hard. The nerve...
6.Most prized gaming collectible.
-I don’t really have a lot of gaming collectibles, unless you count a few thousand Magic cards. My most treasured collectible is an autographed photo of Chris Cornell.
7.What new game are you most excited for?
-Diablo II: Resurrected patch 2.4. D2:R has turned out to be everything D3 should’ve been, and the devs seem to be listening to the community. It has so much promise. I'd say Elden Ring, but I don't have it yet, and I'm not looking forward to dying 1000x in a row.
8.What is your preferred gaming system?
-PC.
9.What got you into gaming? - Question by Grandgreg13
-My dad really fostered my love of gaming. He was a gamer, and I got to spend time gaming with him. He loved Elite and other space trading games, and I credit that for my love of grindy incremental games. He wasn’t here to see the development and release of Elite: Dangerous, but he would’ve loved it.
=====TITANCONQUEST QUESTIONS:=====
1.What is your favorite class of Hero?
-Augur. Gotta get that XP.
2.When did you join TitanConquest?
-August 2019. You’d think I’d be further along...
3.Where did you get your Username from?
-I used to play a lot of WoW. Every time I started a new caster character and put the heirloom gear on, one of my guildies would ALWAYS say “You look like a big purple ….” so I named one DurplePildo. My next character was a warrior outfitted in green, and Deen was born. It stuck.
4.How long did it take you to reach 99?
-A couple of weeks the first time. Just managed the sub-1hr a few days ago along with Aldegar and a lot of help from 0lime. That was fun!
5.What is your favorite feature on TC?
-Chat? Definitely chat. The people make it worth staying.
6.What clan are you currently part of?
-USMC. It’s the only one I’ve been in. Lots of fun folks, and 0lime’s a good dude.

7.If you could ADD one thing to the game, what would it be?
-Kill assists. If I do most of the damage on an enemy and someone else gets the kill, credit me with the assist (or assist counts as kill if it's over 90%), send me a common item, and give me a token amount of xp/lp/drach.
8.If you could REMOVE one thing from the game, what would it be?
-Bounties for rare mobs; they’re a failed bounty waiting to happen. Nobody is going to kill 50 Nessus Witches in half an hour.
9.What are you most excited to see come to TC next?
-Whatever FS and Cloud have in store for us! The 100k event was great. We got new items with new mechanics, and a new rare enemy that I hope we’ll see again some time. Not to mention the event gear going to the VQM. That’s huge for folks that missed out.
10.If you could change the name of the Vanguards name.
-I wouldn’t. I’m kinda jealous of their emblems, though.
11.What is your favorite achievement and Triumph?
-Probably Daily Tasks 365 Days Complete. Felt good about that one. That and 150k items sold. Would’ve had it weeks sooner, but I used 45k items one day to finish a community goal. Oops.
12.What is an achievement and/or Triumph you would like to see?
-Salute 365 different people. Engage with the people enjoying the game alongside you. Show them that they’re seen and appreciated it. I still smile when a salute message pops up.
13.What achievement did you spend the most time on?
-First Onyx. Just got it a few weeks ago. Now it’s on to the next grind for GT. Then the grind for max DR. Then the next grind… and the next… I love it.
14.How did you find TitanConquest?
-It popped up on r/incrementalgames, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Been here ever since.
15.How long have you been around firestreams games?
-This is the first one I played, so just a couple of years, but it scratches the itch for watching little numbers turn into big numbers.
16.Can I take the server hamster home for the summer? - Question from Kronos1307
-You’ll have to ask your mom first, but I doubt she’ll want turds everywhere.
17.Favorite TC player? - Question from Conquestlord
-0lime! He’s a solid dude, always willing to help people out, and super chill. I have a pretty long list of TC folks I really enjoy playing with, but 0lime stands out.
18.Do you think Mount Olympus is too hard or too easy to get to? or just right?
-It's just about right. You can’t get there right at 99, but it doesn’t take too long to grind out the drach. The Throne Room lp grind, though... woof.
19.How do you think we could get more active players and get more people to stick around?
-More promotion on aggregates like Reddit, and more app reviews. We’ve slacked off on the app reviews, and that drops us down in the “You might like this” algorithms.
20.Who in TC do you think is the strongest/most powerful? A question from Pirolamb
-Cloud. Nobody will unseat Cloud.
21.Why do you think Pure fire is the coolest in the game? - Question from Pure fire x2
-These interviews are great! I always enjoy reading through and learning about the actual people on the other side of the screen. It doesn’t hurt that I’m still in single digits on The List.
=====REAL LIFE QUESTIONS======

-Male
2.What is your profession?
-Storage Systems Administrator. I’m an IT nerd.
3.What is your dream job?
-One that I’ve automated enough to let me play TC on the clock. Almost this one.
4.What is your favorite Holiday?
-Halloween! The decorations, the costumes, the candy… what’s not to love?
5.What kind of music are you into? who are some of your favorite bands?
-I like rock and metal mostly, but I have pretty broad taste. Favorite band is Hum, out of the Champaign/Urbana scene from the mid 90’s. Been on a bit of a hip hop kick lately, and Aesop Rock & Run the Jewels have been getting heavy rotation in my playlist. About the only things I don’t really care for are gospel and modern pop, but there are always exceptions.
6.How many concerts have you been to?
-Too many to count. I love feeling the music at live shows.
7.What is your dream car?
-With the cost of gas lately, anything electric!
8.What is your current ride?
-I drive a Toyota Highlander hybrid. Gets pretty good milage, and all the kids fit comfortably. We love road trips, but... you know.
9.Where are some places on your bucket list you wanna visit?
-I’d like to see the Sistine Chapel and some Roman landmarks, then head off into central and eastern Europe to see the really old stuff. Most Americans don’t really have a grasp of the concept of old things. The backroad towns with their own fests and traditions fascinate me. Got to see a little bit of it when I lived in Germany, but I’d love to go back and see more.
10.What are some activities you wanna do in your life?
-Hike the Appalachian trail, get certified to officiate youth sports, retire, move to New Zealand. Maybe not in that order.
11.What is your favorite animal and how many do you own? - Question by Bourne 2 kill
-Dogs. Dogs are great, and humans don’t deserve them. We have 2.
12.Please give us one or more random facts about you that most will not know.
-I love puzzles. All sorts of puzzles. Jigsaw puzzles, tactile puzzles, spatial puzzles, number puzzles, logic puzzles. I have a collection of Rubik’s and Rubik’s-like puzzles. If I’m not in TC, I’m probably doing some sort of sudoku or logic puzzle.
