I noticed that this game are currently heavily dependent on wiki to provide necessary information for the players, having a wiki is good and the current wiki is great but wiki should be an optional thing not a mandatory to made a progress in the game. In my opinion, having most of the thing explained in wiki isn't a great new player experience, the first time i played this game i only read the FAQ since wiki usually only contains advanced stuff and i still see new players also do the same (some prob not even read FAQ). This shouldn't what a game supposed to be, the players should be able to figure out some basic stuff on their own, and only advanced stuff like a way to do things effectively, nerdy stuff that involves maths, and an optional secret stuff are what supposed to be in wiki.
These are some approach that currently i can think of:
- Story indicator, when we tried a story once the indicator are decreased or if there's only one story it's gone. This is bad as it can be hard to search where the story was located then we will need to look at wiki just to see where it was. A simple solution would be just leave the indicator there even if all the story ending completed.
- Story item, we should be able to understand whether we need the story rewards or not. Add short explanation for an important reward like "Trapper Rifle: Allow to trap Sacred Animals" and also split emblem into different category so we know that it's an emblem not a gear and such.
- Bobbleheads, just add the requirements to acquire it in game progress. And prob with the perks too to give player willpower to acquire one.
I believe if basic stuff aren't dependent on wiki, new players especially the one that doesn't read wiki nor ask in chat would stick longer to the game.
p.s. Having a knowledge that Titan give more rewards if you deal more power is a huge difference, prob also need to be counted as basic stuff.
p.s.p.s. A bit off topic regarding stories, Don't add stories that are dependent on luck like those locked chest code smh those are the trigger to cheat on stories by reading the wiki.
p.s.p.s.p.s BTW @Blurt In: i blame you for making me read the wiki.
