It might be neat if there was a required viewing of the Code of Conduct at a certain level (Level 10?) And then you have to accept it/agree to it, which gives an achievement or triumph.
This would also require a review of the Code of Conduct to make sure it's up to date and not silly. If it's meant to be taken seriously, it shouldn't have jokes in it, etc.

I don’t have a strong opinion about the suggestion generally, but if we’re going to require people to read it and consent to it, I think it should first be updated and then enforced uniformly. For instance, rule 2 “no boosting†specifically says no using multiple accounts to benefit yourself, and yet it is a commonly used and openly discussed tactic by some (mostly long-standing players) to park a bunch of alt accounts at one location to increase spawn rates for themselves. Meanwhile, the VGs zealously enforce other rules (especially against newer players in chat), delete comments in global without explanation, etc. It gives the impression that the rules are enforced selectively to favor players that are in the central clique, or, at best, enforced arbitrarily. Until those issues are addressed, and perhaps the COC is cleaned up a bit as well for clarity, I don’t think it’s right to make people agree and consent to it.

@Facko
I do agree, and that's why I think it needs to be updated to remove joke rules.
As for the mentioned alts, for your awareness, those are not alternate accounts, those are just alt characters on the same account. Stacking alts on the same planet gives your active character a boost if they're in that same place, by design, as Firestream intended in an update some time back.
That's different than (what I think the Code of Conduct means) creating a new account, then giving yourself a referral, which gives you AC. Or using the second account to buy from a primary account's store, etc.
The Vanguards would have to give input, but usually when I see chat messages deleted it's because they violate the Code of Conduct, and are deleted to preserve the chat as public friendly, PG, etc. But they would have to clarify.
Just wanted to provide some clarification on that. :-)

Thanks bud. I don’t think I read that rule the same way you do—presumably that strategy involves having multiple instances open and/or multiple devices in use (or tabs on the same device), which it specifically says not to do. If I’m wrong, well, then I guess it’s an example of a rule that needs to be written more clearly haha. In any case, thanks for the reply.

(I haven’t done that though so I may be misunderstanding the mechanic. Maybe it is done through one tab and one instance only?)

No, it doesn't require any additional open instances of the game, it just requires an alt to be created.
When you get your main to 99 you can create a new character (for Triumphs, for example) and they just show up when you are logged in, in the last place they were patrolling. Most end up parked in The Acropolis (which is why there are tons there).
If you go to my profile you can see I have multiple characters, for Triumphs and such, and I only have one instance of the game open.

That’s good to know. Thanks. I assumed that alts that were not being actively used would no longer show up and affect the game otherwise. My bad on that.

Indeed, messages are deleted most commonly when they are not appropriate, bearing in mind the PG rules within the Code of Conduct. We cannot say "by the way this message is not okay for X reason, this is why I'm deleting it," the main objective is to limit how long such messages are out there in the first place. Yes, we aren't always here, and sometimes unfortunate posts in global stay around when they shouldn't, but on the whole I think they're dealt with pretty quickly.
As for your arbitrarily or to serve a particular circle comments @Facko, if it was mainly around the alt situation which SpeedForce explained, I hope that's clearer now. If you have other reasons for feeling that way, I'd be more than happy to read what you have to say, in private or otherwise. New players, especially lately because we've been getting quite large numbers joining, means that inevitably the chance of somebody saying something against the code of conduct (deliberately or otherwise) has increased, and so we have to be even more vigilant to retain the friendly, non-toxic atmosphere we've had for a very long time.
There are definitely areas of the code of conduct that need clarification, extra detail, and yes removal of 'jokey' rules. This has been a conversation we have had amongst the staff, and I will encourage again that it should be something we assess.
I hope this provides some helpful feedback, if there's anything else you want to discuss, feel free to contact me individually.

Making sure new players read CoC is a good idea. I think this could also be done by a quiz (maybe QuestWriter style?) with some AC rewards.
