The future of Titan Conquest
I have been playing this game since September-ish 2020, I took a small and came back in December. Since then I have pretty much been on every day and have been playing many hours to reach God Tier.
I know that this game can be described as a work in progress or even an unfinished game. When I was grinding Zeus in December last year I kept reading about dual bikes and I was hoping they would be introduced soon because I realized they would make my experience better.
It is almost summer and the year is 2021 now, I have reached the only goal I set, God Tier. I currently have no real interest in doing the triumph runs so I feel like I should do some core grinding at AP until there are some updates.
But how long should I wait for the updates? I realize that some of the most loyal players have been GT for a while now and have probably been waiting for new content.
We got a new update yesterday, it was the announcement of a new game, the FarmRPG. It is a game that was set up 1st of April, and has since then had 3 big updates with added content.
During the same period Titan Conquest had these updates: Settlements cancelled, servers broken and then fixed, ability to level up companions, some information about the story contest that was going on in March.
When I look at the Updates page of Titan Conquest, I see some exciting updates coming up. But if I look at a Reddit post from 3rd of November 2020 I begin to think about the future of TC.
The Reddit post from 3rd of nov by Firestream presents what is planned for the rest of 2020 and 2021:
- Settlements [60%]. Today: cancelled/on hold
- Minions [20%]. Probably done 2020, maybe in December. Today: [25%] done.
- Dual bikes [10%]. Probably done 2020, maybe December. Today: still [10%], unchanged.
- Skill Trees [30%]. Probably 2021. Today: down to [25%]
We love to spend time and money on this game, but we are waiting for more content, namely the updates that should have been out already according to what has been said.
I am not naive, I know that things do not go as planned. But when I see there is a new update, I get excited and hope for something cool. However, when I saw the update yesterday, I was questioning if TC is even a priority. Will we get any of the big updates?
I honestly only want to know when to expect the new content.

I also agree, I'm excited for the future of this game but also starting to worry it's not going to have any of the proposed content released by its given date. I know real life gets in the way, but when things are constantly pushed back its a bit concerning.

Bought two perma-subscriptions, one for me and one for someone else. Starting to believe I just burned money, which technically is true because it is just data. I put money in because I enjoy the game, but the past half year has been nothing but disappointing.
The only update we really got recently that had any impact on anything, affected all of like 6 players sat in Astral Plane. No wonder the majority of the GT players don't play, they've lost faith in the ability to work on the game and provide entertainment. I can see subscriptions being cancelled and people leaving.
Perhaps stop introducing signup and mini-events to inflate the new player count and actually produce something that people would like.

I've been in the boat of letting go from TC since early December.
I took a break end of December because of the lack of end game content and the nerf to GT uncapped cores. I only returned because of the core cap re-work/changes to how gear xp is delivered and the implementation of capturing sacred companions.
Since then I've hit GT, hit soft cap on cores, captured all 6 sacreds and much more. But with yesterday's announcement and the lack of meaningful content updates I'm starting to feel how I felt back in December
We need some insite on how the development is going or we will start seeing more people move on.

I definitely agree Mr. Funk. I don't feel the need to really do the triumph runs and I am a bit concerned for the future of this game. I think if we were to have gotten an update regarding pets or skill trees prior to farm it may have been received a bit better. It would really be a shame to see this game not get the updates it deserves. I hope we don't have to live in that future.

Ah man, really hitting the spot, lol. I personally don't "play" too much, but still worried about the lack of anything majorly new..in almost 6 months now. Was really disappointed when Settlements got cancelled, but oh well.
Thanks for sharing your views, I'm really sure a lot can resonate with your thoughts. Let's hope things pick up pace sooner than later.

I pretty much expected some blow back from working on something that isn't Titan Conquest. I do want to set a few things straight though:
- The server breaking thing was a BIG deal. It took an immense amount of my time for nearly 2 weeks and you are down-playing that. I worked my butt off to get TC to a brand new server and to be stable and as fast as it can be (its not perfect still). Oh and I just redid the AP XP system like 3 days ago (another big update for a small group of people).
- Farm RPG was originally the Settlements system here. I liked it but it didn't work as part of TC. The numbers didn't make sense when you put it into the context of how much a person can grind per day. It made sense when it was its own thing and that's what I did. It doesn't mean I don't care about TC, it means I cared about the work I put into Settlements and didn't want to throw it out.
- Farm RPG didn't come out April 1. It is live as of maybe 3 days ago? I have fixed a few things since people started playing it, that is to be expected.
- Farm RPG is a much much simpler game. It doesn't have anywhere near the complexity that TC has. To that end, TC takes more time to update because it is more complex and has a lot of people playing it. I still intend to fix the test game to help make that easier on me again, but I haven't made it there yet.
- This isn't my job its my hobby. I can pick up or put down my hobby when I need to. I can work on something different when I want to. It doesn't mean I don't care about this game or what it is. I care a lot and is why I have been working on it for over 4 years when you count the Destiny RPG days.
- Big updates are coming. I don't know when, but they are coming. I fail at making timelines because people come to expect it. If I was doing this full-time maybe I could make my own timelines, but that isn't always guaranteed when you take into account real-life.
- Finally, I'll regroup soon and put out a new statement on the game and where it is heading. It's not stuck like it is, and new content will come.

Thank you FS.
I know the server issues and upgrades were (are?) stressful and took a lot of your time. And yes, I know this is your hobby. But it is also my hobby, and I want to know if I can expect new updates with new content that makes me come back and continue to play this game every day. I know that a lot of other people wonder that, as a lot of people PMed me and said that they agreed, and some replied to the thread.
Anywho, my last sentence was "I honestly only want to know when to expect the new content." and you are adressing that, so I will await the statement.
Thank you again for the reply and thank you for the work you do on this lovely game.

I appreciate the reply, and acknowledgement of the thread, but honestly feel like the response is a little condescending/dismissive of the very real concerns people are raising.
I truly feel it would help if there was more transparency about the in-flight updates, as well as more responses to the dozens and dozens of ideas / feedback / Quality of Life things that have been raised for months (on here and the other site).
More frequent statuses (whether posted by you or by someone else on your behalf) would go a long way on dispelling the notion that you don't care about this game or are losing interest. That's a real concern people have, that was only inflamed at the announcement of the new game. (With the awareness that other things have been announced and then discarded with little explanation/clarification, like the mentioned Easter event, or so on).
I'm not losing sleep over the lack of post-God Tier content. I am wondering what's happened to other content that has been promised along the way that hasn't been updated or clarified or refocused since announcement. (With God Tier, I know it's a bit of a challenge figuring out how to proceed from there, and unlike Settlements, Minions, Dual Bikes, or Skill Trees, only affects a really really really small % of the playerbase).
And this is one of my hobbies too. I've financially supported this game because I enjoy it and want to help support further development. I've been involved in a lot of daily chat to help new players, and promoted it on Reddit and other places for that same reason. I've submitted ideas to you and on the forums to try to improve it as well, all because it's a hobby I enjoy. But that should come with the reasonable expectation of more transparency around updates, both for me personally, and as a player of a game in 2021.
I don't mean to come across negatively, I just feel that the response is disappointing. It's entirely possible and reasonable others might disagree.
Either way, thanks for reading.

I’m blown away by the reactions because of FarmRPG. I completely understand the concern about it causing updates to be delayed to TC, but it seems like if you trusted FS enough to buy into TC, you could just trust him when he says TC is still a priority. I have invested a lot into this game, too, but if it vanished tomorrow, I still had a good time. I wouldn’t regret the time and resources I put into this game. Maybe we can all be patient with FS the way we’d like people to be patient with us.

I am a newer player and not a subscriber so take this with a grain of salt:
It is very rare to find a fun game that is free (no ads even) and with a dev who is even remotely involved on an ongoing basis. By rare I mean I don’t think I’ve seen it. And frankly I don’t know how anyone works full time, has a family, and still has time for a hobby of this magnitude. So I tend to be more in the “grateful for what we have†rather than the “disappointed we don’t have more†camp. The delays and lack of updates could be seen as unprofessional but, again, FS does not do this professionally. As for the money spent by players, I see that more as a thank you for the game delivered to date, not part of some tacit agreement for additional content that FS is now falling short of. Just my $.02.
With that said, I believe in free markets in the sense that if the game stops being fun and/or runs out of content, FS should expect people to move on like I think we all do with most games at some point. I certainly will when I get to that point, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. We’re not beholden to the dev, and he’s not to us.
In short, I understand the general point of view here, and I think it’s reasonable, but i think maybe we need to zoom out and keep it in perspective how uniquely good of a gaming this has been compared to other free mobile games—and perhaps check our expectations accordingly.

Thank you, Tenfoo. I agree that I had a good time during the time I spent here, but I think you misunderstood.
It is not about FarmRPG. It is about reading about the upcoming updates in November and being excited about them and waiting for them. It is about being happy for new updates thinking it could be related to one of the updates that you look forward to and then being confused when it is not, it is something different. It is about a feeling that it is never going to happen and that the latest official communication that I can find was in early November last year.
