With the most recent update to gear xp, which I believe everybody is super grateful for, a few of us have found that the Gear Exp Leaderboard for "Most Single Gear Exp" is mostly defunct.
Reason for this is that when you do get your first piece of gear to onyx tier, you stop accruing gear exp into it until you have finished the entire set or you purposefully transpose into it, which at that point is a bit of a waste.
I think a better idea for the gear exp leaderboard would be a similar mechanism to the power leaderboard, where it shows the gear exp of all your currently equipped gear pieces. Otherwise it is mostly just a god-tier leaderboard.
This also has an added benefit of people who spread their gear exp across their set to raise it equally to check their progress against the people around them, or to compete if that is what they fancy!
