Ok so this is an idea mostly for Firestream bc i don't know that it would even work the way i want it to. It would drastically affect gameplay however, if it worked the way i was wanting it to.
So here's the idea, basically you would take the game from being a web based game with embedded webpage as an app, to becoming an app that has a webpage where you could log in and do stuff. So the idea is, you'd have three sites
1) The App site. This would be the game, but all of the game mechanics would be part of the download, and coded into the app itself. The server communication would be the same, but instead of having everything server-side, your account would be downloadable, when you sign in it would attach your account to the app, and build your progress into the app as well as the game. If you wanted to go to a new device you would have to log in same as now, but you'd have to download your progress, and it would pull your account from the old device to the new one, no matter if you logged in on the web page or the app. This would (in my uneducated mind) up speeds my a ton, letting people want to use the app, and upping speed in general because of less stress on server communication for everything in the game.
2) The website. This would be almost identical as it is now, except you would have to download progress on your browser everytime you log in. Not everytime, but if you log out and then log back on you'd have to redownload. The concept here is your account is stored and accessed similar to cloud. If you want to access it you can pull it from the server and then have it stored locally, meaning if it is in use, the server stress is transferred to the device and thus gives better speed to everyone.
3) The last site would be the test server. This would be identical to what it is now. A copy of the server but where fs can add things and we can test them. Once they are good to go, he updates the site and updates the apps releasing an updated code, completer with redownload and all.
These updates would do several things
- theoretically change speed drastically
- constant app updates and having every person have to get the app for the best speeds would draw more attention to the game that is now faster and thus capable of more player capacity.
- help more structure in the game as updates and events would be more schedulable.
Please give your thoughts on this, especially fs and Vgs. Idk how or if this would work or if it would be too much work but i hope it works.

Would not work. Any time you save data / update data locally there are ways to corrupt that data.

This on a different scale.

I agree with Awoir. That said, there may be some optimizations that could be done to increase speed a little. I think the best chance for large speed increases is something like regional servers. That takes a lot of money though.

Yeah the thing about server communication with each tap, it really really affects people like me, who are basically on the opposite side of the server, so to speak, lol. Appreciate the ideas, man, I was happy to read these lol.
Currently very dependant on Puffin, I just wish there was another way but nothing comes close. I hope there will be some optimizations or something.. but I guess I'll wait and see.
Thanks for sharing your suggestions man!
